Shore Fishing:

Bank anglers are limited to the public shoreline in Tony Schmidt Park. Much of this area is clear sand beach with little cover. Some anglers fish from the top of the outlet structure located west of the beach.

Management Plans:

  1. Re-survey in 2014. Population assessment in 2020
  2. Stock 192 pounds of walleye (2 lbs. per littoral acre) in odd numbered years.
  3. Stock 426 hybrid muskie (2.5 per littoral acre) in even numbered years.

Comments:

Johanna is a very popular recreational boating lake. Anglers can be hampered by competition with other boaters and dense vegetation growth at certain times of the year. Walleye are present, but can be difficult to catch. This lake has been one of the more successful tiger muskie lakes in the area. Bluegill are common, but are of average size.
